4th annual 5k and family fun run/walk at WCS’s Bronx Zoo

More than 5,000 runners and walkers will help WCS save lions and their habitats around the world

Bronx, N.Y. – April 23, 2012 – The fourth annual WCS Run for the Wild 5k run and family fun run/walk takes place this Saturday, April 28 at WCS’s Bronx Zoo.

This year’s run/walk is dedicated to saving lions, their habitat and other wildlife. The Wildlife Conservation Society works across Africa and in the native range of lions in places such as Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda, and Nigeria’s Yankari National Park.

The 5k race for individual runners will begin at 8:00 a.m.; casual runners and walkers can take part in the Family Fun Run/Walk at 8:45 a.m.

More than 5,000 runners and walkers are registered to participate.
