April 8, 2015 – WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) New York Aquarium will host a Mother’s Day family program called “All About Otter Moms” on Sunday, May 10 at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 2 to 3 p.m. The program is free with aquarium admission.

May 5--Lafaza and WCS Announce New Partnership For Sustainable Vanilla and Clove Production Around Madagascar’s Makira Natural Park
Lafaza and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) today announced the launch of a new partnership to work with communities to expand environmentally sustainable vanilla and clove production around the Makira Natural Park in Madagascar’s northeast. The partnership will support more than 1,900 households to produce high-quality vanilla and cloves that will be destined for international buyers in the United States and abroad.

April 25 - Seventh Annual WCS Run for the Wild at the WCS Bronx Zoo
More than 5,000 ran, jogged, and walked through the WCS Bronx Zoo in support of gorilla and wildlife conservation at the seventh annual WCS Run for the Wild.

WCS’s Bronx Zoo Debuts First Gelada Baboon Born in NYC in 13 years

Bronx, N.Y. – April 22, 2015 – The first gelada (Theropithecus gelada) born in the U.S. in more than 13 years is making its debut at WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Bronx Zoo. The Bronx Zoo is the only zoo in the U.S. that exhibits geladas.

April 22--Madagascar Creates Nation’s First Community-Led Marine Protected Areas
The Government of Madagascar commemorates Earth Day with the formal creation of three community-led marine protected areas that will double the surface of the country’s marine protected area network, according to WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society).
