Flushing, N.Y. – June X, 2011 – The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Queens Zoo is looking animal lovers to join its team of dedicated volunteers. Program participants will have the opportunity to teach visitors of all ages about animals through guided tours, assisting with special programs and events, speaking at narrated feedings, and leading arts and crafts activities.

Queens Zoo volunteers have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of special events at the zoo including annual holiday events like Boo at the Zoo at Halloween and Presents to the Animals at Christmas. Most importantly, becoming a volunteer means experiencing wildlife while having a great time.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, August 31. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, available for a multi-week training program, and able to commit at least four hours every week. The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Queens Zoo – Open every day of the year. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 65 and older, $5 for kids 3-12, free for children under 3.
