Central Park Zoo

The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) zoos and aquarium today announced plans to reopen the Bronx Zoo, New York Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo on Friday July 24, after being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic since March 16. From July 20 to 23, there will be special preview days for WCS members only.

WCS to Hold Seventh Annual Sip for the Sea Benefit at the Central Park Zoo

Sustainable seafood and perfect wine pairings will be front and center at the Wildlife Conservation Society’s seventh annual Sip for the Sea – a benefit that showcases and celebrates WCS’s marine conservation and education work at the New York Aquarium and around the globe.

Sip for the Sea will take place at the Central Park Zoo on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will help further the mission of WCS and the New York Aquarium to save wildlife and wild places.

Sept. 12, 2017 -- The following remarks were delivered by Bronx Zoo Director Jim Breheny as he was sworn in as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Jim, who has worked at the Bronx Zoo since he was 14, now serves as Director of the Bronx Zoo and Executive Vice President of Zoos and Aquarium for the Wildlife Conservation Society, overseeing its five zoological parks in New York City, including the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Zoo and New York Aquarium.

Central Park Zoo to Host Sculpture Safari

Hundreds Attend the Fourth Annual Sip for the Sea to Support the Wildlife Conservation Society’s New York Aquarium and WCS’s commitment to marine conservation locally and around the world
New York – Sept. 15, 2016 – Nineteen of New York City's best chefs paired their food with great wine from Jekel Vineyards and Bonterra Organic Vineyards at Sip for the Sea 2016 to benefit the WCS’s New York Aquarium. Hundreds attended the event, which raised awareness about the importance of sustainable seafood.  All proceeds will support the New York Aquarium and WCS’s commitment to marine conservation locally and around the world.
