Conservation groups applaud House introduction of WILD Act

WCS Delivers Hundreds of Thousands of Ivory Ban Comments to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

WASHINGTON (Oct. 1, 2015) – This week, WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society) delivered 164,238 comments, organized through the 96 Elephants campaign, to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) calling for the closure of the commercial ivory trade in the United States.

Today, the White House issued a fact sheet which states that the United States and Chinese Governments intend to cooperate on a number of vital issues, including efforts to combat wildlife trafficking and a commitment  to ensure each country halts  the domestic commercial sale of ivory.
