The Wildlife Conservations Society’s Bronx Zoo always offers zoo-goers an enchanting wildlife experience. For those kids that are serious about animals and want the opportunity to supercharge their zoo-going experience, WCS’s Bronx Zoo is bringing back its popular family and summer camp programs. Kids can learn about the animals and their conservation needs, observe animal behaviors up-close, and interact with the animals and their keepers.

Family Activities:


Family Overnight Safari


After another sold-out series last year, the Bronx Zoo’s most popular family tradition – the Overnight Safaris – are back. Families will be treated to fun-filled activities including Late Night at the Bronx Zoo where participants will meet a variety of amazing animal guests. Throw in some new surprises for this year and a late-night snack to keep your energy going, this extraordinary event is sure to create lasting memories to treasure.

Summer Programs:


Pablo Python Looks at Animals


Pablo Python will introduce children to the wonderful world of animal sizes, shapes, colors, textures, patterns, locomotion, and diet. In this five-day adventure, children will go on safari to the African Plains, observe butterflies in the Butterfly Garden, ride the Bug Carousel, explore the Children’s Zoo, and have up-close encounters with animals, everyday.

Animal Kingdom Camp


This summer, kids can spend an unforgettable five days at the Bronx Zoo discovering the amazing diversity of the animal kingdom. Children will journey through Madagascar!, ride the Wild Asia Monorail, design their own day-at-the-zoo adventure, learn ways to protect animals and habitats, then teach zoo visitors what they’ve learned.

Summer Teen Internship: Animal Care Program for Teens


Many young people dream of a career working with animals, and for those who have participated in the Bronx Zoo Animal Care Program for Teens – the experience has been a defining experience.

The internship program introduces teens to an astounding array of wildlife-related careers and explores the theories and practices behind animal management and conservation at the Bronx Zoo.

The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Adult admission is $15, children (3-12 years old) $11, children under 3 are free, seniors (65+) are $13. Parking is $13 for cars and $16 for buses. The Bronx Zoo is conveniently located off the Bronx River Parkway at Exit 6; by train via the #2 or #5 or by bus via the #9, #12, #19, #22, MetroNorth, or BxM11 Express Bus service (from Manhattan that stops just outside the gate.)
