New York – Mar. 2, 2015 – Brooklyn just received another 3.5 inches of snow. The WCS Prospect Park Zoo is always a beautiful place to visit no matter the weather.

#0129: Styan’s red panda (Ailurus fulgens styani): One of two sub-species of red panda on exhibit at WCS zoos. The Western red panda is at the Himalayan Highlands at the Bronx Zoo.
#0167: North American river otter (Lontra canadensis): Found in rivers in streams throughut North America, this member of the weasel family is always a favorite at the Prospect Park Zoo.
#0240: Tufted deer (Elaphodus cephalophus): This tiny species of deer is characterized by its fang-like teeth that protrude from its mouth.
#0271: Black-necked crane (Grus nigricollis): This Asian species is found on the Tibetan Plateau and migrates to parts of India and China. It is threatened by human activities that result in habitat loss.
#0300: Dingo (Canis lupus dingo): The Park Zoo opened its dingo exhibit in Spring 2012 along the zoo’s popular Discovery Trail.
The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Prospect Park Zoo – $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 65 and older, $5 for kids 3-12, free for children under 3. Zoo hours are 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. weekdays, and to 5:30 P.M. on weekends and holidays, April through October. 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. November through March.
