Nine Siamese Crocodiles Hatch at the Koh Kong Reptile Conservation Center

Nineteen Critically Endangered Giant Ibis Nests Discovered in Northern Plains of Cambodia
Preah Vihear (August 1,  2017) –The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), working in collaboration with Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment (MoE), announced today that 19 nests of the giant ibis (Thaumatibis gigantea) have been discovered during the current breeding season in the Northern Plains of Cambodia in Preah Vihear Province.

 Success of Local Nest Protection Sparks Hope for Worldwide Conservation of Globally Endangered Greater Adjutant
Battambang (27 July 2017) –Endangered greater adjutant chicks have successfully fledged from 175 nests in the Prek Toal Ramsar Site in Cambodia and disbursed across the country. The nests were protected for six months by conservationists from Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment (MoE), Prek Toal village, and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).

Globally Endangered Masked Finfoot Nest Discovered in Cambodia

Preah Vihear (21 July 2017) - Conservationists from the Ministry of Environment (MoE), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and local communities have discovered an Endangered masked finfoot nest for the first time in four years in the Kulen Promtep Wildlife Sanctuary (KPWS) in Preah Vihear Province. This site is the only confirmed breeding location in Cambodia for this very rare species.

Training Young Leaders Across the Globe to Save Wildlife and Wild Places

Sulawesi, Indonesia, July 14, 2017 -- From June 28 through July 13, the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) delivered an international training course for 21 early career leaders from 12 different countries. The course was held in Sulawesi, Indonesia and covered key topics that will help participants gain skills and influence in the conservation sector.

Nest of Globally Endangered White-winged Duck Recorded in Northern Plains of Cambodia
Kulen, Preah Vihear ( July 10, 2017) – For the first time in five years, a nest of the Endangered white-winged duck has been discovered in the Northern Plains of Cambodia. People from the local community discovered the nest and reported it to conservationists from the Ministry of Environment (MoE) and Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). The nest, which contained seven eggs, was located inside a Koki tree hollow in Kulen Promtep Wildlife Sanctuary (KPWS) near Kulen District, Preah Vihear Province.

First Nest of Critically Endangered Siamese Crocodile Recorded in Sre Ambel River System

Sre Ambel, Koh Kong (28 June 2017) - Conservationists from the Fisheries Administration (FiA), WCS(Wildlife Conservation Society) and local communities have discovered a nest with 19 eggs of the Critically Endangered Siamese crocodile in the Sre Ambel District of  Koh Kong Province in Cambodia. This is the first Siamese crocodile nest recorded in six years of research and protection in the Sre Ambel River System.
