WILDLIFE CRIMEFIGHTING BREAKTHROUGH: New ranger patrol method shows major improvements in detection of illegal activities

August 17, 2016 – A team of scientists from WCS, University of York, and Uganda Wildlife Authority have developed a new method of detecting illegal activities in protected areas by as much as 250 percent.

Scientists Find Uganda’s Murchison Falls Protected Area To Be a Hub of Biodiversity
NEW YORK (November 20, 2015)—Scientists conducting a series of biological surveys of Uganda’s Murchison Falls Protected Area on the banks of the Nile River have uncovered a noteworthy finding: the park is twice as rich in wildlife as previously thought and is one of the region’s foremost centers of biodiversity.

NGOs Urged to Unite to Help Stop Elephant Slaughter ahead of U.S. Times Square Ivory Crush
June 17  - Days ahead of the U.S. Times Square ivory stockpile destruction, Stop Ivory, along with the Wildlife Conservation Society and Save the Elephants, are appealing to NGOs around the world to heed the call of eight African countries to join the Elephant Protection Initiative (EPI) to stop the wholesale slaughter of elephants which threatens is decimating elephant populations across Africa.
