The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), along with the Waitt Foundation, the blue moon fund (bmf), and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), announced a major commitment to expand the world’s marine protected areas (MPAs). 

New York  (September 14, 2016) – The WCS ( Wildlife Conservation Society) in partnership with the Fisheries Administration (FiA) has announced that it is transferring 206 of Cambodia’s national reptiles—known as  Royal Turtles—to a new purpose-built breeding and conservation center in Mondol Seima district of Koh Kong province. The new facility will be named the Koh Kong Reptile Conservation Centre.

September 12, 2016--Communities in Fiji’s Bua Province are taking action to address the effects of overfishing and other unsustainable practices in the biodiverse but fragile land and marine ecosystems of Vanua Levu, according to the Fiji Program of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).
