Bronx Zoo Hosts World Leader
Madagascar President Marc Ravalomanana enjoyed a unique opportunity to visit his homeland while he was attending the UN General Assembly in New York. On Sunday, September 21, the President toured Madagascar!, the Wildlife Conservation Society's spectacular new exhibit that opened in June at the Bronx Zoo. Motherlode of Gorillas Discovered in Central Africa
A new census finds a massive gorilla population previously unknown to scientists. WCS and the Government of Congo have tallied more than 125,000 western gorillas in the northern Republic of Congo. This is great news for the critically endangered western lowland gorilla, which had been believed to number only 50,000 in total.

Reefs Find Shelter from the Heat
