First Nest of Critically Endangered Siamese Crocodile Recorded in Sre Ambel River System

Sre Ambel, Koh Kong (28 June 2017) - Conservationists from the Fisheries Administration (FiA), WCS(Wildlife Conservation Society) and local communities have discovered a nest with 19 eggs of the Critically Endangered Siamese crocodile in the Sre Ambel District of  Koh Kong Province in Cambodia. This is the first Siamese crocodile nest recorded in six years of research and protection in the Sre Ambel River System.

Talking Turtles II: WCS Discovers More Turtles that Talk

Annual Adirondack Loon Census: Volunteers Wanted
June 22, 2017 - WCS's Adirondack Program announces a call for volunteers to survey loons on Adirondack lakes as part of the 17th Annual Adirondack Loon Census. The event will take place on Saturday, July 15, 2017, from 8:00-9:00 a.m. Participants can choose which lake in the Adirondacks they want to survey when they sign up.

Over 150 Asian Giant Softshell Turtles Return to the Wild
June 21, 2017 – WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society), in collaboration with Cambodia’s Fisheries Administration (FiA) and the Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA), released 150 Endangered Asian giant softshell turtle (Pelochelys cantorii) hatchlings  into their natural habitat along the Mekong River.

Hatching Hope: 39 Critically Endangered Burmese roofed turtles emerge from eggs
Yangon, Myanmar (June 15, 2017) –In a boost to their Critically Endangered species, 39  Burmese-roofed turtles have hatched in Limpha Village , Myanmar, report scientists from WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society) and Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA). The news follows that of the recovery of 44 viable eggs in the wild reported by WCS on April 11, 2017.
